Release Date: September 2026
Release Type: Architecture & Database Processing Enhancement
Branch: 3.8.0

Overview

OneDB v3.8.0 introduces a new cross-database processing architecture that provides a more consistent foundation for protecting sensitive data across supported database platforms.

The new architecture standardizes how OneDB processes protected database results while preserving each database platform’s native communication and existing OneDB protection behavior.

What’s New

Cross-Database Processing Architecture

OneDB now uses a common processing foundation across PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, IBM Db2, and MongoDB.

This enhancement:

  • Provides more consistent protected-data processing across database platforms.
  • Reuses existing Field Settings, tokenization, detokenization, and masking configurations.
  • Preserves native database behavior and compatibility.
  • Provides a stronger foundation for introducing future protection capabilities across multiple database platforms.

Database Processing Enhancements

The new architecture has been integrated across all currently supported OneDB database platforms:

  • PostgreSQL
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Oracle
  • MySQL
  • IBM Db2
  • MongoDB

Existing OneDB configurations remain compatible, and database operations outside the new processing scope continue to use the established OneDB processing mechanisms.

Compatibility

OneDB v3.8.0 maintains compatibility with existing Field Settings, protection templates, masking configurations, Tokenize and Detokenize modes, and database connection settings.

No configuration changes are required when upgrading from an existing OneDB deployment.
