Typical Key Information
A key record may include:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Key Name | The name of the key. |
| Key Type | The type or purpose of the key. |
| Algorithm | The cryptographic algorithm used. |
| Allow Key Deletion | Allow Key Deletion is a security configuration or permission setting that determines whether a user, application, or process has the authority to permanently remove cryptographic keys or registry keys from a system. |
| Created Date | The date the key was created. |
| Updated Date | The date the key was last updated. |
Recommended Practice
Keys should be rotated according to the organization’s security policy. Avoid using the same key for all applications unless there is a specific security and operational reason.
